Reconstruction ~ Part 3
I remember feeling excited about that day. Knowing I’d have breasts again is what got me through the pain… I really wanted to feel normal again... like a woman.
Fast forward to the present moment and that makes me sad, looking back on how I felt about myself and my self worth :(
Back to my story…
So when I awoke from surgery, I could see 2 little mountains on my chest & believe me they felt like mountains! My cat Hershey did not leave my side for a few weeks as you'll see in the photo. My therapy cat… RIP Hershal… he was 20 yrs old :(
Over the next 5 months, I would see my doctor to fill the tissue expanders with a long needle filled with saline solution through a metal portal. I was suppose to have them in me for 6 months, but I started having horrible leg and bone pain in my 4th month.
I called my surgeons office and told them, they have to come out ASAP ! I had seen my naturopath doctor and she told me, I probably have a heavy metal thing going on.
I was hospitalized 2x with bone pain in my legs and hips so bad, it felt like child birth. I had seen my naturopath doctor and she told me, I probably have a heavy metal thing going on. Sure enough, I did the chelating/ testing and my metals were off into the “red zone!” What she said made sense.
Every time the needle was going into the metal portal, it was leaching into my bone marrow. I remember faxing my report over to Allergan to report what had happened to me. My naturopath wanted them to give me a break down what was in the metal portal and they responded back to me with one word, “platinum.” They told me, they were going to do a case study on me. I never heard back.
The day of my surgery to remove the tissue expanders, I asked my surgeon, are you sure the new ones are safe?… as I was terrified!
He told me these were FDA approved and 100% safe. I trusted him :(
